I think images have the capability to evoke many feelings. I also think that what those feelings are might be up to the person viewing said image. Many things other than simply seeing an image can impact how we interpret something. Think of Rorschach tests. It is the same image interpreted differently. Of course, the ink blots are meant to be up for interpretation, however the notion of differing views changing how an image is perceived still stands.
When I look at the first image of the sunset, to me it gives off the energy of calm and a wrapping up of the day. The ombre from dark blue top of the sky to the orangey horizon line evokes a feeling of melting into bed at the end of the day.
The second image of the bubbles evokes a feeling of child-like wonder to me. The way the light plays with the bubbles’ edges and creates rainbows is something that will never cease to make me smile. It also makes me think of childhood in general and hot summer days blowing bubbles in my backyard during summer break. But that is a very personal interpretation because it made me think of a memory near and dear to me.
The third image is the view outside of my window. This image is more foreboding to me. The eerie lights across the river give me a sense of unease and the darkness surrounding the trees makes me think something is lurking in the shadows.
The final image I find to be quite beautiful but also somewhat sad. It is a lone smoke stack (I am not entirely sure that is what it is, to be honest) expelling something into the air. It evokes the feeling of loneliness and solitude mixed with a yearning to be heard but destined to be ignored.
